I really didn't find this book funny. I thought some of the situations were sad. I found the ending super strange and I despise it when authors leave you in limbo so that you must purchase the sequel.Product details

No ending.. The final page leaves you hanging.. In my opinion it should end like a well wrapped package, near and tidy.
I enjoyed the characters, especially Chantelle Rose, but I was a little disappointed that the conundrum of Lionel and Robbie was not resolved. Ah well, I suspect that means I will need to read the next book in the series!
What a fun story! It's a quick read full of excitement, interesting characters, sometimes unlikely adventures, but always moving right along.
When I started to read it, I said “Oh no a love story, I thought it was a mystery.” As I read I found the character of Chantelle a little quirky and so I read more and as it turned out it was a sort of a mystery. The one thing I hope is she grows up just a little more and doesn’t jump to so many concussions. Oh by the way I enjoyed it.
Absolutely LOVED this book so much that I read it in a day. I don't do that often these days. Chantelle is my spirit animal....and I'll switch her a$$es any day. I NEED not want to know which man is the baby daddy. It killed me to have a semi-cliff at the end of the book. With Lionel off shooting a movie and Robbie waiting in England, Chantelle needs to get her fine booty moving on the DNA test. Please, please, pllleeease tell me the next book is coming out in a month! (Team Robbie, by the way).

I first heard about this book by reading an author interview on The Writing Greyhound, a fun book reviewing blog, and I picked up a copy during the next sale. A young woman gets cast as a film extra, and after an uncanny set of circumstances, she finds herself signing a million dollar contract with a producer and headed off to Hollywood! The blurb captivated me, and Cristina Hodgson’s absolutely hilarious and delightful tone carried me through the story.
During every page of the title character’s first-person account, I found myself actually laughing out loud. She was so awkwardly charming, and I absolutely loved her inner monologue. Besides the Hollywood scenes, the book takes place in England, and the main character is English, so I found the constant British slang utterly hysterical. Maybe for English readers, this book is normal, but from an American point of view, it’s funny and charming.
If you like humorous novels, told by a protagonist who doesn’t shy away from real details, like a deodorant stain on a dress, using an airplane bathroom, and the hazards of frizzy hair, grab a copy of A Little of Chantelle Rose. I got the kindle version because it was on sale, but I’m planning on buying a paperback copy so I can enjoy it and keep it on my bookshelf!

I was suddenly aware that Tammy was still holding my hand, or rather, squeezing the blood out of it, and under my breath, for her ears only, I hissed sharply, “Let go. He’ll think we’re a right pair of dykes.” Not that there’s anything wrong with that, of course. Nevertheless, at this precise moment I didn’t want Mr Sex to think I was a raving lesbian.
I could feel his piercing blue eyes stare at me as I untangled my hand from Tammy’s.
“May I help you?” he continued, as his horse started nervously pawing at the soft earth below its feet, looking like it was going to charge right at me. I reminded myself, as I tried to keep calm, that as far as I knew, it was bulls that charge.
I hate to disagree with the other reviews, but I really didn't like this book. I was surprised to discover it was only 200+ pages long, because to me it felt more like 400. After plodding through it, I was disappointed to not even find out how the story ended.
